I agree, big time corporations need to be taxed more. However, your notion for NO Federal Income Tax is mistaken. This is what was happening during the Rockefeller and Carnegie days. The government needed to apply an income tax to get a minor proportion of their money. It does occur to me as i write this, an individual who does work hard for their money should have the right to keep it. HARD WORK should pay off in the end.

  1. It’s amazing how prevalent this “big government’s taking our jobs” myth has become in recent years. I guess, it goes to show how effective the neoliberal camp has been to offer its (wrong) two-cents at a time when economics fundamentals long taken for granted were thrown into question by new market dynamics (things like deregulation of the financial sector, and the rise of FIRE since this happened). It’s not that a large state sector and relative high government revenue immediately or unconditionally damens growth; it’s more a matter of whom one is taxing, and where the money is spent. These sort of buffoons use a political argument as a ploy to promote the agenda of killer austerity, which has shown it doesn’t work. in many cases, sadly, people seem to be eating it right off the plate, too…
